Blackness On Sea

Poem: Blackness On Sea From her ship-shaped castle stroll along That bulk which proudly guards the bay

Her walls stand ever resolute and strong Upon the Forth's bleak waters, cold and grey. Atop a grassy knoll and still so clear defined Amid foundations of St. Ninian's tiny hall The Coort within that chapel - seen only now in mind Their Baron Bailie annual do install.

The boats and yachts their pennants gaily fly While sails and gibs flap boldly to the fore Their masts towards the sky yet ever rise Lie rocking, tethered close to the boatclub door

In the Square, now see shades of gold and blue In livery as bold as any Marches Horse So bright and bold and welcoming the hue At last! It is the Lobster Pot - of course! Good folks of the hamlet rally here Their spirit as ever genial as their host.

Providing tasty meals, grand ales and beer The finest you will find upon this coast.
