Poem No. 12

Images Evoked

My mind is full of images

My eyes have yet to see

Evoked as I wander happily on a crisp spring day

Through Blackness by the Sea

Antiquated fishing towns

And buzzing little ports

All these visions brought to life

As I enter through the doors

My thoughts sail down the entire west coast

Anchoring in a picturesque Cornish neuk

Imagining drinking scrumpy from a jar

A setting from a book

Cast back to a time in history

With visions of smuggler's coves

Sailors, fishermen and traders

Mixing with Pirates and other sea faring rogues

All of the above imagined

As I step into the thriving hub

Going back in time a century or two

And take a seat in the Lobster Pot pub
