Poem No. 152

POEM TITLE The ship that never sailed

POEM Standing majestically on the firth of forth

Is Blackness Castle a royal dwelling

A dungeon , a fort

As I walk along the shore of Blackness on sea

I feel it's power over me

Calling into the Lobster pot for some good food and wine

I'm surrounded by family laughter and love as we dine

The warmth of the day is just beginning to cool

A coming together but we must leave soon

As I look back at the Castle before I depart

I realise Blackness on sea has captured my heart

I say goodbye to this small harbour

Its village and the tales

Of Blackness Castle the ship that never sails .
