Poem No. 16

You can meander along the shore

along the Bo'ness beach

where seashells stop and gather

when the tide is out of reach.

You'll walk through a woodland

where dead trees covered in moss

create a natural sculpture

like green candy floss.

Fishery cottage lies empty

left to the bramble now

a monument to a different time

a fitting one somehow.

So carry on still further

passing fields of grazing cows

you'll have fine views to the bridges

when mother nature she allows.

Soon you'll get a view

of Blackness village and the beach

and in a little while

the boat club you will reach.

Beyond you'll reach the castle

which has been filmed quite a bit

a nice place to stop and rest

a pleasant spot to sit.

But if you feel the need

for further refreshment still

in the square is the Lobster Pot

where you can have your fill.
