Poem no.163

POEM TITLE

The Lobster Pot

POEM

The Forth's dark waters lap the shore

Heavy grey clouds shroud The Bridges

Eiders skim across the swell

Legionnaires stood guard in eons past

Oyster beds long ago exhausted

Battlements protected this land

Shelduck dabble in the mud

The ship that never sailed remains

Elsinor it once portrayed

Ramblers progress along the John Muir Way

Poets well kent have strayed

Oliver's Army sought to win

Travellers welcomed in The Inn
