Poem no. 195

POEM TITLE

A Tail of Sorrow

POEM

She sits alone

Upon a throne

Awaiting his return

Deep below

A Tail of sorrow

For the bridges she hath burned

She killed for him

A mortal sin

Buried deep beneath the surface

His will was done

She thought she'd won

When she carried out her purpose

Alas she tries

Everyone died

Though it didn't bring him back

Now she cries

For all their lives

Tears of inky black

And if you look out to the ocean

Regardless day or night

As far as the eye can see

You'll see, there's blackness on the sea
