Poem no. 218

POEM TITLE Goan hae a keek!

POEM Rabbie burns and Robert louis Stephenson, long has been the association, while I’m nae McGonnagall, I’ll have a go, so here’s my creation. Blackness is a tiny village, beautiful at any time of year, It’s true size can be very deceptive, and not what they first appear. You’ll find an area of beauty, views ae the Forth and Fife, no a better day you’ll spend, away fae o the strife! There’s a local naturist swimming group, basically skinny dippin, yer affy welcome to join them, so gaun get yersel stuck in! Walk, run, cycle in the woods, by the sea and the sandy beach, for all the historians out there, upon the Blackness castle you’ll reach. A castle foo ae history, and maybe even the BBC crew, where historical dramas are filmed, Hamlet, The Bruce to name a few. In Blackness, the recent production, of period drama Outlander, imagine being in this place, and managing tae get a gander! Then aff it is fir some scran, tae the local The Lobster Pub, you’ll find it doubles a plenty, in this place which is a wee hub. Try oot the fish dishes or oysters to put to the test, and perhaps a refreshment, a pint ae Belhaven’s Best. Afterwards you may need some groceries, so away n off you pop, no need tae go far though, as within it, is the village shop. So away yi go tae Blackness on sea, this beauty of a nook, You’ll see history a plenty, when you have a wee look.
