POEM TITLE
For evermore
POEM
cars wait
with their maverick disposition in the parking lot
tire marks fade
and replace each other near the restaurant
faith is fickle
like the ocean waves that runs into the sand beneath our feet
smiles made from coral skies
depart from the blackness on the sea
downpour settles in
lures someone with a dwindling audacity
flushed cheeks and drenched shirts
fade like paper boats on makeshift streams
but you’ll be here
drawing hearts on the misted windows
taking the best spot
meant for us in the only pub this place knows
indelible names were lost
they sure were the milestones I had to cross
pillars to the post
I sigh and hold onto you like the last train home
I drew you on the last page
unwavering, obstinate
vivid in my film reel
we’d hum along a bygone melody for evermore, for evermore
and I’d remind you the words until I have to no more
