Poem No. 52

POEM TITLE BLACKNESS ON SEA !!

POEM

Where Lobsters plot, and Rabbie Burns,

Where Oysters dance, Prince Charlie turns,

You’ll see me with my pail and spade

On beaches fine, come hail or shade.

Then when the Firth doth limber in,

Not once, not twice, but Forth agin,

The sands are greeted – gulls “Hello”,

To froth and foam and ebb and flow.

Where grey stone ship, that never sailed

Stands steadfast, strong - it never failed,

The Castle Keep’s it’s secret deep,

Outlander stars and peoples peep.

Stevenson stayed, but not Kidnapped,

Crichtons ruled, so Admirable clapped,

The Holdings held, their spirit strong,

Flags will fly, memories grow long.

So drink up now – in The Lobster Pot

Toast the future and join the dot,

Enjoy the history – but be free,

Come Raise your Swell, Blackness on Sea!
