POEM TITLE 5am Blackness On Sea
POEM In a field by Blackness castle ten black bullocks sleep
Across the grey dawn water the three mighty bridges sweep
Down the hill by the lobster pot all is quiet and still
The only sound a wood pigeon to break the mornings chill
There are no dogs yet to walk, no cars to try and park
Nothing but tranquility so shortly after dark
Soon the world will stir again and people start to wake
A human canine promenade up to the castle gate
But from a St Ninians window there’s nothing yet to see
Except the new dawns beauty that surrounds Blackness On Sea
